| Fertisa Port Terminal FERTISA has a multipurpose terminal with a 300-meter long quay and a 50,000 m2 yard area that allows the terminal to handle simultaneously two vessels with more than 25,000 MT (DWT) in two berths, facilitating the handling of cargo in containers, import of fertilizers and other bulk, as well as banana export. It is very flexible because it is the only port
terminal with a closed quay (sheet piling) in Ecuador, which provides
a wide wharf for maneuvering and storage capacity for all types of cargo. |

In
accordance with its endeavor of complying with the highest standards of
quality and security in its activities, in 2004 it pursued and received
the "Statement of Compliance of Port Facility" under the requirements
of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, which
guarantees that Fertisa's facilities have a certified security plan.
Likewise, in 2005 it pursued and obtained the BASC certification (Business Alliance for Secure Commerce), which guarantees the active handling of cargo for imports and exports. This represents a sound preventive response against smuggling and terrorism. This certification and the compliance with its standards and procedures qualify us as a secure port. |
